Effective Date: February 11, 2026
FriendsLog is developed and operated by Chai Jang. This privacy policy explains how FriendsLog handles your data. We are committed to protecting your privacy — FriendsLog is designed as an offline-first app that stores all personal data locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or share your personal information with any external servers, with the limited exception of in-app purchase management through RevenueCat as described below.
All information you enter about your friends is stored locally on your device using an embedded database (Isar) and is never transmitted to external servers. Under Apple's privacy guidelines, data that never leaves your device is not considered "collected."
However, FriendsLog uses RevenueCat, a third-party SDK, to manage in-app purchases. RevenueCat collects limited data as described below. This data is not linked to your identity and is not used for tracking or advertising.

Note: FriendsLog does not access your device's contact list. Friend information is entered manually by you. The "Location" field stores a text description you type (e.g., "San Francisco") — FriendsLog does not access GPS or device location services.
All data you enter in FriendsLog is used solely to provide the app's core features: storing friend profiles, displaying birthday reminders, organizing prayer topics, and managing your custom notes and sections. Data never leaves your device.
FriendsLog uses on-device notifications to remind you about upcoming birthdays and prayer topics. These notifications are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device — no push notification servers or external services are involved.
FriendsLog provides an export/import feature that lets you back up or transfer your data. When you export, a file is created on your device. You control where that file goes — FriendsLog does not automatically upload it anywhere.
FriendsLog uses one third-party service:
The app contains no advertising networks, no analytics services beyond RevenueCat's purchase analytics, and no other external data processors.
Your personal data (friend profiles, notes, prayer topics, etc.) may only leave your device if you explicitly choose to export it using the app's export feature. In that case, you are in full control of where the data goes.
We may be required to disclose information if compelled by law, but since we do not have access to your personal data (it exists only on your device), we have nothing to disclose.
All data is stored locally on your device for as long as you choose to keep it. You can delete individual friend profiles at any time from within the app, which permanently removes all associated data including photos and notes.
Uninstalling FriendsLog will remove all app data from your device. Since no data is stored on external servers, uninstalling the app is a complete deletion of all FriendsLog data.
FriendsLog stores your data in an embedded local database on your device. The security of your data benefits from your device's built-in protections, including device encryption, passcode/biometric locks, and the iOS app sandbox which prevents other apps from accessing FriendsLog's data.
Because no data is transmitted over the internet, there is no risk of interception during transit. Your data's security is tied directly to the security of your physical device.
Because FriendsLog stores all data locally on your device and we have no access to it, you have complete control over your data at all times.
If you are located in the EEA, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, and port your personal data. Since all data is stored locally on your device and we do not process it on any server, these rights are inherently fulfilled — you have direct, unrestricted access to all your data.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to delete your personal information, and to opt out of the sale of your personal information. FriendsLog does not sell personal information. All data resides on your device and is fully under your control.
FriendsLog is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since all data is entered manually by the user and stored only on the local device, no data is transmitted to us regardless of the user's age.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will provide guidance on how to remove that data from the device.
FriendsLog does not track you. The app contains no advertising and no tracking mechanisms. We do not use Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA) and do not participate in any cross-app or cross-website tracking.
The RevenueCat SDK used for in-app purchase management does not engage in tracking as defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. FriendsLog does not trigger the ATT prompt. There are no ad networks, attribution services, or data brokers involved in any way.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy and, where possible, providing notice within the app. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
Continued use of FriendsLog after changes to this policy constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
